What would I do?

Let me get this straight right off the bat. I have no intention of running nor do I even have the desire to be President. But, I can’t help but wonder what I would do if I unavoidably found myself in that position. And I’m not going to say that I would do these things, just that these are things that I would try to do.
What would I do if I could? I would turn this country upside down. Why? Because it’s headed down the wrong road. Big Government, Government control of medicine, finance, housing, labor, etc… is not according to the Constitution. It’s not American. If I could, I would keep taxes where they are right now for at least two years and then start to reduce taxes by a small percentage each year until it reached a reasonably tolerable level for the low-income portion of the population. To tax someone because they die seams somewhat ludicrous to me. That’s a state of live that cannot be avoided. It just doesn’t seam right to me.
The president is a servant of the people. Although the president, I believe should be the highest paid servant because he/she has the greatest responsibility, he/she is still a servant of the people. I could live on a lot less than what the president is currently being paid. It is my opinion that all Government employees’ income should be reduced starting with the president.
When I worked at a shipyard I found out that the navy was paying around $500 for toilet seats. If this were true, it would definitely be stopped. That’s outrageous Government spending.
As much as I hate Government intervention in the lives of the “Citizens” of America I would take one of the last interventions of the Government under my authority. I would demand that the education system in this country would start teaching Americanism to all students starting with teaching “American History” accurately and not leaving out the parts that portray the significant contributions of all races that help established and build this country and not leave anything out.
I would have copies of the “Declaration of Independence”, the “Constitution”, the “Bill of Rights” and the list of things to accomplish written by the American socialist/communist party for all schools and for everyone to have in their home so they can see the difference and learn how socialism has infiltrated all aspects of today’s society so they can recognize it and resist it when it is encountered. This in order to bring the mentality of all Americans back to “Americanism” so this country can start to regain the greatness it once had.
As far as foreign policy is concerned, to give an analogy, like a young sapling bends in the wind, I will bend over backward to try to accomplish an equitable solution for all parties concerned. But to those who would see this country brought to it’s knees, like the sapling snaps back when the wind stops blowing, I too will snap back only like a bullwhip and you don’t want to be on the business end of it when this country does snap back.
Now jobs and the economy are two or the biggest concerns in this country. I’m not sure exactly what my actions would be but I know that the economy is dependent mostly on the ability of the people to have money to spend and for that they need to have an income and that means jobs. I will find a way to put people back to work even if it means establishing Government backed business to produce jobs until these businesses are able to stand on their own. In any case, I will find a way to put people back to work.
I believe there is a need for alternative energy but to stop all oil production would be very stupid. As noted in a previous post, there are too many things needed for daily life that are products made from oil and oil by-products for us to continue as we are without some very inconvenient hardships. Establishing businesses to provide means to provide alternative energy would also be a step to providing jobs.
As far as immigration is concerned, I would first temporarily close the southern border and the northern border also if necessary. At least long enough to ensure we have no elements coming into this country with the intention of doing harm in one way or another. Then I would try to establish a system to deal with those that are here illegally already. I would try to establish communities where they could come together and live without persecution until, if they intend to stay in this country, they could learn what it means to be an American, learn English since it is the national language and learn to live in this country as citizens that contribute to the good and well being of this country. Only those that refuse and don’t want to become legitimate citizens of this country will be sought after and arrested if criminal or returned to the country of origin. This is not; I repeat regardless of how it sounds, this is not a concentration camp. It is a place where they can all learn, and grow and become upstanding citizens free to come and go until the time when they can pass the test and confirm allegiance to America. If they choose not to stay they are free to return to their country of origin at any time. But will not be allowed to live in any other part of the country until they become “American Citizens”. This will also ensure that jobs available in the rest of the country will be available to the citizens of this country that are currently unemployed and need to provide for their families. The illegal immigrants in these communities will also be provided with means and opportunities to support their selves while they are there.
There are other thing that I would try to do but I think these are some of the most important issues.
If you know of anyone that is running for president that has a platform along these lines, please let me know and if they are indeed serious along these lines or have an even better idea for returning this country from the liberalistic mentality that’s taking it to hell and returning it to the greatness that our “Constitution and Bill of Rights” established and we achieved and one time, then please let me know and I will be the first to vote for them.
Thank you for your indulgence and I hope you can find someone that fits the bill. Thanks again. GOD bless all of you. Y’all take care now. Later.
Harry
So, basically what you’re saying is you’re a self-righteous twit just like the politicians in DC and you want to impose YOUR self-righteous view of what is/isn’t “American” on the rest of us. Uh, thanks but no thanks. Our military is overseas fighting against cretin who think the same way you think – they want to impose their self-righteous views on the rest of us. In case you’ve forgotten, here in the USofA we celebrate FREEDOM, not being forced into a belief system by self-righteous jackboot thugs like yourself. Oh, and it’s hilarious how you rail against socialism then propose socialist programs to solve the economic crisis. Yeah, great job of thinking there. If you weren’t so pathetic you’d be hilarious. Go to the library and actually READ the documents you state (Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence). Hopefull you’ll see how your plan of self-righteously imposing your beliefs on the rest of us goes against everything those documents stand for.
