A copy of a post I placed on a forum I frequent.

Hey folks; 

     Sorry, I’ve been away for a while.  But, it seems that it’s no big deal as it looks as if everybody ran out of things to say.  So far, there have been a lot of complaints but no one has suggested any solutions.  And, some of the comments, I can’t help but wonder if no one remembers a couple of adages I grew up with.  (1) Keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer.  (2) The best way to fight a war is to know your enemy and one of the first ways to know what your enemy is up to is to hear what they have to say.  Yet, some of you refuse to listen to the programs that broadcast what they say.  Granted, what they say and what they do are not always the same, but sooner or later they invariably let something slip.  If you don’t like what they are saying and doing, listen to them and then come up with a solution and start telling somebody your suggestions.     

     Here is one that has been running through my mind.  How about running it through yours and see if you can improve on it and maybe we can come up with a possible solution to a problem or two.  See what you think.     

     According to the 2^nd Amendment, one of, if not the main reason for every one to be able to keep and bear arms, is to provide for a militia in time of national need such as the borders of the U.S. being invaded.  Example: Drug Traffickers.  Now, a militia is not a military organization (National Guard, Coast Guard, etc..).  As long as the Government depends on military and police organizations, WE are going to loose because there isn’t enough of them to go around.  A militia is, or are, civilian volunteers.  Right now, our country is being invaded by drug traffickers.  Right now there are a lot of people in this country, with guns, that have no income to feed their families.  Right now, there are a lot of people that live along the border from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Coast whose lives and families are in danger.  How many of these people, especially if they were paid at least 2 to 3 times the going rate of unemployment comp. would be willing to stand guard along the border, shoulder to shoulder from coast to coast until this invasion is eliminated?       

      With a couple of weeks of training on how to stand guard and use the weapons provided, if they don’t have their own adequate weapons, and with enough volunteers, they would probably only have to stand guard two or three times a week.  The military would be free to position watch towers about (1) ever quarter mile with roving supervisors to aid the civilians standing guard, an nco for about ever half mile an officer for about ever 5 miles, a company commander for about ever 20 miles.  This would set the police free to take care of city streets along with neighborhood watches.  Can you think of a better use for the money assigned for a stimulus program?  The money would be paid to the people that need it to spend to feed and provide for their families, while at the same time performing the volunteer activities of a “WELL ARMED MILITIA”.      

      A nice bonus for the civilians standing guard would be, what ever guns were confiscated would be distributed among the people standing guard (civilians) in the area they were captured, and what ever money was confiscated from the drug runners, no matter where it was located would be spread out as a bonus to all civilians standing guard from coast to coast.       

      Can you improve on this?  If so, add your ideas to it.  If not, pass it around and see if anyone else can.  This is just one suggestion as a way to prove not only the right but also the need for the “Second Amendment” to remain in tact as it was originally written.  And, for the people of this country to start feeling like Americans again and that this is their country and not for people from other countries to abuse and try to turn into a satellite of their country to do as they please.
