MY TRIP part 8

Hello Folks;
You know it seems like it’s one thing after another. I woke up in the middle of the night Friday night and my heater wasn’t running. So Saturday I took it back to the dealer and had them look at it. The shop man checked it out and said it was a loose wire. The salesman that sold me the thing said that was the last time they would repair anything on the RV without charging me. I left and it worked fine until Monday morning about 4 O’clock. I noticed it wasn’t running again. I checked the wires the shop man said were the problem and everything was connected. Looks like they only do temporary fixes. Instead of going back and them charging me for fixing what they didn’t fix Saturday, I went out and bought a couple of electric heaters. Good thing you don’t have to pay extra for electricity at this park.
I also noticed that when I left the driveway leaving the park that my rudder was dragging bottom. It seems that my aft was low in the water because of the load I was carrying was all stored astern. For all you landlubbers, that means that my trailer hitch was scraping cement because the back bedroom in the RV is my storeroom and I had too much weight back there causing it to ride low. That explanation is just in case there is someone out there that didn’t know what I was talking about. So, I figured instead of just sitting around on my intelligence, I would get up off of it and re arrange things to eliminate that problem. I won’t go into detail about what all I’m doing but I’m re-arranging my whole living quarters in the process. Needless to say, I’m staying kinda busy. Just thought I give you an update to let you know that I’m not just sitting here twiddling my thumbs. The time goes a little faster this way and it’s hard to stay bored when you have to use your imagination to get everything stored in a way that you still have room to stand up and turn around. I hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Year Holiday season. I can hardly wait to get back on the road. As soon as I find out about locations, I’ll be deciding where to go from here.
Well its a few days later and I’m still sitting here. Good news is I got my GPAA Mining Guide Thursday afternoon, started reading it Friday and realized my prospecting permit needs to be updated. It also got down to somewhere between 15 and 19 degrees by Saturday morning. My little electric heaters don’t work as well as I hoped they would. But, it didn’t kill me. I went out and got some weather stripping to go around the door where most of the air was coming from but I didn’t get enough and Saturday night got down into the mid 20s. Brrrrrrrrrrr. Anybody got any extra heaters? Just kidding. I’ve go some more work to do to this thing and get my permit and get things straightened out with Social Security and maybe see a doctor if I don’t feel better before time to leave. I’m also looking around for a Single Action Shooting Society competition in the immediate area. I went out and got my Cowboy Clothes, my guns and some ammo before I left Mobile and haven’t run across one anywhere near where I was whenever I stopped someplace. With the exception of the one in Truth or Consequences and the one in Las Cruces right after I got here but my circumstances kept me from going. Meaning the condition of this RV.
Maybe the man that runs the rock shop in Hillsboro will be back in his shop by the time I get ready to go but I think I might still have to go by that Gov. Agency in Silver City before I actually get out and do some prospecting. So far, it still looks like it’s going to be February before I get to leave Hatch anyway. But this time, I hope I have everything in order when I do. You know? I can’t help but wondering if I had this RV repainted with ads for Gold Fever, Gold Prospecting, Cowboy Action Shooting, Shooting USA and others like these on the Outdoor Channel, if they would be willing to pay me a few dollars that would help cover expenses for being a moving advertisement. Y’all take care now. GOD bless. Later.
Harry
