My Opinion
By Harry on Jan 27, 2008 in Food for Thought
Hi folks;
I’m not really sure where to start. I’ve got a lot of things on my mind and they’re all related. But, putting them in print is another matter.
I guess I should start with the government, or rather, people that occupy or trying to occupy government offices. Mainly because of their actions or actions they are proposing.
I’ve written about that senator that thinks he has the right to decide what should be the life style of preachers. The first amendment in the Bill Of Rights strictly forbids government interference. Besides, GOD says He will punish those who don’t live according to his word. Like the one Levite who’s sons were so evil and so profaned His temple, that He knocked him off a log and broke his neck. So, people like this Senator need to back off lest they wind up violating the Constitution and The Bill or Rights that is as is written, ordained by GOD.
There are some of these Presidential Candidates, that if they could, or rather if they are elected, would, at the least, rewrite another one, thus completely destroying the original meaning.
These people are, in my opinion, an extreme contradiction of themselves. They endorse denying right to life or killing by abortion. Yet, they want to restrict someones ability to defend their self because they might kill someone in doing so. Is this, or is this not a contradiction?
I can’t help but think, are these people that approve of abortion, paving the way for the government to eventually claim the right to decide who has the right to have children? Thereby eleminating the undesirable element that gives birth to children that become the criminal element.
Are they trying to eventually take away all the firearms from decent citizens so that all that are left are the guns in the hands of the criminals, bad cops, and a few good cops. So, when crime becomes so unmanagable for the police that the military has to be called in and martial law is declared, and this country (the USA) becomes a police state. What then, another WW2 Germany, another Comunist China, or maybe another Iraq.
They say they want a school system where no child is left behind. Why don’t they revamp the educational system and get rid of the “Progressive Education System”. Stop teaching to and advancing only the brighter students who pass tests with flying colors. Go back to the old system where every student is given the same opportunity. You might find that this eliminates more drop outs than you can imagine. When I found out what the Progressive Education System was, ( literally Experimentalism), and the school system was experimenting with our brains I got angry because I felt like I was short changed. I didn’t do that good in school and the teachers really didn’t seem to care there that much. In fact, when I took a whole extra year of school to make up a couple if credits I missed by living in another state, I took other courses to get a few extra credits in case I wanted to go to college. There were times when I felt that some of the teachers were wishing I wasn’t there.
If these people really want to run the government, maybe they should take a real serious look at what they stand for and the exremely undesirable reprocussions that could come from someone that has that kind of platform. Remember Einstine, an object in motion… Be extremely cautious of what you set in motion. Reprocussions could be disasterous.
P.S. With the trouble Einstine had with math, he might have been a drop out in todays education system.
Hi, I would not be surprized if many, many people share your throughts, and I am one of them. Wish all of us could get it thru the humans (?) that run our goverment.

Harry…I just read your opinion. I must say a few negative things, but please don’t be offended.
Your article was quite rambling, and seemed to try to cover many topics at the same time. It was, therefore, a bit comfusing. I had to go back and reread parts of it to even understand what they referred to.
Spelling needed a little work (seam should be seem).
I only say this because if you want this to be a serious blog and be taken seriously by readers, then you need to make it more professional. I really would like to have known what side you were taking on which subject, but that was not possible because your writing was so jumbled.
Also, please never use more than three or four commas in one sentence.
Best of luck in your blog.

Rusty;
Thank you for your support. It’s always nice to know your not alone in the way you think about certain things.
Hello Hiker;
One question. Are you an english teacher? After reading your comment, I thought I was back in High School. Ha, ha.
My writing will never measure up, I’m afraid, like I stated in a previous post, I’m not an English grammarian. As for the spelling, blame the spell checker, it didn’t catch it and out of character for me, I didn’t go back and re-read it as usual.
I did accomplish one thing,even though I rambled, my rambling made you curious enough to go back and try to understand it. Try re-reading it again, who knows, the more you read it the more you might understand.
