I had a sudden urge to write something and the following is what came out.  Maybe the quote from Daniel that starts this off is what spurred this train of thought.  In any case, I hope I remembered what I was taught accurately.

Daniel  12: 4 

     “many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased”.  I can’t help but wonder and even believe that this is that time.  With the many methods of rapid transportation and since the wide spread use of the computer, knowledge has been greatly increased.  With passages like this I can only believe the end is not too far in the future.

     One of the things that bothers me is, that the promoters of evolution and the promoters of creationism both seem to know very little about each other’s subject.  The fact is, there is room for both theories.  No where in the bible does it say that life began with Adam.  In fact, there are passages that suggest otherwise.

Gen 4: 14  Cain speaking

    … And it shall come to pass that every one that findeth me shall slay me. 

Gen 4:15

     And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.

     Who is the everyone that Cain is talking about and who is the whosoever that GOD is talking about?  If Adam was the first man then Cain would be the second man alive on the earth. 

     This suggests to me that there were other, possibly, man-like beings on the earth that they could be referring to.    I am also led by the bible to believe that Adam was not only not the first man, but he was not the first intelligent being on earth.

Gen 1: 2

     And the earth was without form, and void;

Jer  4: 23

     I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void;…

Jer  4: 25

     I beheld, and lo, there was no man,…

Jer  4: 26

     I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD,…

     I have been taught that these passages in Gen. And Jer., in the original Hebrew have exactly the same letters and could just as well be read as “ the earth became a waste and a desolation”.  And the word cities as dwelling places of intelligent beings and there was no man.  This is some of the evidence that leads to the gap theory between Genesis 1: 1 and Genesis 1: 2.  Which indicates that there was something here before the now that we live in.  It also tells me that if there was a complete destruction, there would be very little likelihood that there would be any evidence to prove it.     

     Why am I writing this now, only GOD knows, but I’m sure there will be more later.  Exactly what, only GOD knows that too.

     Footnote of evidence: 

     When your the first, you don’t replenish something you plenish it.  You replenish something when there was something or someone there before but are not there anymore.     

Gen 1:28

      And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
