More about my acting career
By Harry on Sep 26, 2007 in My Acting Career
I have been asked what movies I was in. Ok, but keep in mind that I was only an extra, and it’s very unlikely that you’ll see my ugly visage in the camera. That is, unless “Sacrifice” didn’t edit me out. Then , you’ll see a lot of ah, ah, ah, visages in the camera. Including mine. But, if you don’t know what I look like, then you wouldn’t know if it was me or not. Here’s the list:
FILM
Sacrifice Mourner/Protester an HBO movie Production
Mobile, Al.
Spy Kids East Indian in Airport Sleeping Shark Production
Austin, TX.
Miss Congeniality Man in Hotel MCP Production
Austin, TX.
The New Guy Assistant Principal New Guy Production.

Commercial Man in cheering crowd Conoco Petroleum
There was one foreign film, “The Arrangement” . All I did in it was move back and forth between the two main actors and the camera, bowling. It took them so long to film that scene, that when they finally finished, I never wanted to even see another bowling ball the rest of my life. Well, there you have it. It wasn’t a very long career, but I really enjoyed it.
The film, “Behind Closed Doors”, is a whole other story. Some other time, maybe.

I have always wondered, do they pay you for being an extra even if the scene is cut?

Shan;
Pretty much, yes, major studios, when I was an extra, paid on the average, $50 to just be in a scene, over $100 if you have a speaking part, up to around $250 to $500 if it is a pivotal key part. By the way, those amounts are per day.
P.S. The top end of those amounts might not be accurate, That was quite a few years ago and I didn’t do it for long.

If you want me to understand what you mean in your comment with all the links, you will have to write your comment in English. I can’t respond to something when I don’t know what your saying.
