I did.  One day, about eight years ago, I was looking all over this town for a job.  All that seemed to be available were manual labor jobs, which I couldn’t do because of my back.  Jobs working on computer, if you were lucky enough to find someone that didn’t specifically want a woman to do the job, only paid about $5.15 an hour.  Now, what kind of living could you make with that if you didn’t have 3 or 4 other people in your family working also.  Any good paying job, you had to have special training in or be a college graduate. 

     Anyway, one day I saw an ad in the newspaper that said they were looking for extras for a movie being shot in the area for HBO.  So, I decided to check it out.  I called the acting agent the movie company was using in the area to find out what I could.  She told me to be at a certain place at a certain time to fill out the paper work, yes, they fill out some of those papers too.  Just don’t put your SS# down if your not sure of the people your dealing with.  There are different kinds of (con) artists in that field of employment too.

     In any case, I wound up being in a film that stared Michael Madsen and Jamie Luna, (I hope I spelled that right).  It was, to say the least, an experience. 

     Unfortunately, I didn’t get paid for that one, but the bug had bitten.  I WANTED TO TRY TO BE AN ACTOR!!! 

     There were no other opportunities around here, so, I got a job working as maintenance mech at the apartment complex where my aunt lived and she let me stay there for a couple of months so I could save up some money to go where both employment and acting opportunities were more plentiful.

     When I saved up enough I headed for Austin,  Tx.,   Yes, that right, I said Austin,  Tx.  There was more going on there than most people know about.  Well that’s how my acting career got started.  If anyone want’s to know more about what films I was in and whom I worked around, tell me so and I just might tell a little more.  So, for now, later.
