Credit, Credit, Who gets the Credit

I guess it’s about time I gave credit, (or blame, if you don’t like what I write), to whose responsible for me being here, and A little bit about how I got here from where I was.

It started a little over five years ago.  I was working in a drug store in their one hour photo lab.  The manager of the store decided she needed to make room for her daughter’s  boy friend or fiencee, what ever he was.  I was still having back problems from working at a shipyard for 18 years, and she decided I would be the one she would get rid of, so, she assigned me to work another station that I had told her more than once that it hurt my back to work there.  Because I told her I couldn’t work that station, she asked if I was refusing to do the job she assigned me.  I repeated that I couldn’t because of my back.  She said, she was going to have to let me go then.  I need to enter here that, I say this about the boy because one of the other employees in the store told me that the cash register barely had time to cool off before he was in there doing my job.

I was also working a part time job at a convenience store.  It also happened, less than a month after that, the convenience store closed because the company was cutting back. and they had no place else available for me to work that I could get to ridding the city bus.

Here I was, rent payment building up, my unemployment and what little I got from what little work  I was able to do on the apartment building for the owner, didn’t even come close to paying the rent.  The owner was one of the few really good people I have ever met.  He let me stay there and pay as much as I could while I was looking for a job.

When my unemployment came up for renewal, an illustrious clerk (bureaucratic), entered the wrong information and all of a sudden I no longer had my pennies coming in which left me with just the small allotment of food stamps I was getting.  That was 8 or 9 months after I lost my last job and I was still looking.

I tried to go up against the government and file a claim to get them back.  I was strongly advised that if I didn’t want to take a chance on going to jail, because nobody fights city hall and wins.  I should take the first bus out of town and not look back.

I considered staying and fighting, but since he was a native of the city and I had only been there about three years, he probably new something I didn’t, so I left, and came back to, I guess you could call it my home town.

Well, it was no easier finding work here than it was out there.  I couldn’t file for my pennies because of that clerks’ mistake.  I had to settle for food stamps.  Since I couldn’t get a job, I figured the only reason was because of my back, legitimate of not.  I filed for disability with the V.A. and Social Security.

At present, I’ve been unemployed for five years and four months.  Which brings me to where I am to day, writing this blog.

Because of my back I could no longer do the physical work that I used to do.  So, I started looking for work on the computer.  That didn’t pan out either.  I started looking for something working from home on the computer.  I wound up getting a ton of e-mails from all kinds of people from telecommuting jobs to starting my own business.  The only problem was, I’m sitting here without a penny in my pocket, they’re making all kind of grandiose claims about what I can do and how much I can make.  Like I started to say, the only problem was they all wanted money up front.

Here I was, sitting here with no money getting more depressed and aggravated because I couldn’t take any of them up on their offer.

Then, along came Joel Comm with an offer I found hard to believe.  Get started for $.01, that’s (One Cent).

I sent him an e-mail trying to explain my situation and that if I had to, I would get out in the street or a parking lot and find a penny that way, if I absolutely had to have the penny.

Then, along came Dan.  He works for Joel.  He responded to my e-mail, which was the first e-mail I had sent to anyone about these opportunities that was actually answered.

Well, Dan thought I was some kind of crank or was joking.  He responded to me from that frame of reference.  I imagine, in his position, he had good reason.  He more that likely gets a lot of e-mails like that, that are cranks and jokes.  When I explained my situation to him.  He said he would set me up and get me started with a blog, but I had to take it from there and do my best to make it work.

As I said, Dan works for Joel Comm  and the program he set me up with ScriptDojo, it  can be reached here http://scriptdojo.com/reviews/Harry.html for anyone who might be interested in making some money.

Well, that’s how I got from there to here and I really thank Joel and Dan for the opportunity they gave me.  Most of all I have to thank GOD.  If it wasn’t for Him making all things possible, I would probably sitting on a curb somewhere.  Thank GOD!!!
