More History not taught in Schools

I’m pretty sure that you’d be hard pressed to find someone in this country, and many others for that matter, that has never heard, or heard of, the story of the Exodus out of Egypt.
I was listening to a rerun of my pastor teaching today and he referenced the story of another Exodus that he has taught on before. The other Exodus that was recorded by 1st century B. C. Greek historian Diodorus Siculus.
Diodorus tells the history of the Exoduses from the Egyptian record of them.
Although, he has exposed these records, as he puts it, out of the mists of time, according to the way I was taught, I think he may have crossed his records with another Exodus out of the Palestinian area in which a race of people that Herodotus, called the father of Greek history, refers to as Keltoi (Celts) are involved. But that’s another Exodus.
The ones this Exodus is concerned with were the ruling class that ruled Egypt after Joseph.
As it is written, A Pharaoh of upper Egypt who new not Joseph, overthrugh the Hyksos( foreign rulers or shepherd kings), ruling class and turned all the Hebrews that were left into slaves.
We all know what eventually happened to them, they followed Moses out across the Red Sea. But, not very much was ever said about what happened to the ruling class.
Diodorus’ record of the history of Egypt during that period is concerned with what happened to them.
Now the way I was taught, the descendants of Zara, son of Judas, were ruling Egypt when then the Pharaoh of upper Egypt invaded. Fearing for their lives, because the custom in that day was to Kill the ruler, his family and all his relatives that might come back and cause problems. Knowing this, the Zaraites fled Egypt in ships. Now Diodorus gives a lot of credit to the tribe of Dan (Danaan or Danites). I won’t deny that they were in the ships, but I’m more inclined to believe they were the ones who sailed the ships that delivered the Zaraites first to the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. There they formed the city-states of Troy, Athens, Rome and then moved west to settle in the Hispanic area of Zaragoza, and some continued on to France and Ireland where they or at least some of them were called Melitians. We get the word Militia from this name.
Diodorus speaks a lot of the tribe of Dan, and not to take credit from their accomplishments, anywhere you see the name Dan (Danube), Den (Denmark), for example other forms were Din, Dun, Don, etc.
Back to what I was taught, the Hebrews that escaped by ship didn’t just create the city states, they, if not started, influenced the culture of each country to the point where the higher culture of the country was considered to have started at approximately that time. Maybe I’ll say something about the other Exodus at a later time.
P.S. If I have misspelled any words, please accept my apology and leave me a note as to which one so I can correct it.
P.P.S. If you want to read wha Diodorus had to say, key in his name and “The Other Exodus”.
